Startup Hot Seat, Simpsons trivia, and more events in Boston this week

Celebrate Women’s History Month this week with events recognizing women in business, the arts, and sure why not, on The Simpsons: Lisa is the show’s smartest character and Marge functions as its moral center, yeah she’s kind of a wet blanket but guys need that wet blanket around to put out the fires from our wacky schemes and general incompetence.

* Brighton Music Hall will be transformed into a one-night pop-up gallery for Arts on our Avenues, and by “our” avenues they mean Allston’s, because Brighton Music Hall is in Allston, on Brighton Avenue (that’s the avenue from the event title, see how it all works out?) The night showcases local artists, musicians, and restaurants, plus a keynote address by Julie Burros, the City of Boston’s Chief of Arts and Culture. Proceeds will support Allston Village Main Streets. 3.9. 6:30p. $20.15

* Cuisine en Locale hosts an an evening of Simpsons trivia, promising to please casual viewers and Comic Book Guy-level superfans alike with a mix of easy and hard questions. Enjoy a few classic episodes of the show between rounds, plus a Simpsons-themed food menu and “Duff” beer. Questions will span the entire run of the show (I know, I know, just hold on a second) with an emphasis on seasons from the ‘90s (see I told you it would be OK). In conclusion, Libya is a land of contrast. 3.10. 8p. FREE

* It’s ladies night at the Museum of Fine Arts, and that means ladies get in free after 4 p.m.! OK, so guys get in free, too, admission to MFA special events is always free, although voluntary contributions are welcome. Wednesday’s Women in the Arts night recognizes Women’s History Month with gallery activities, music from the Girls Rock Campaign, and a spotlight on artists from ArtLifting. 3.11. 4p. FREE

* This one goes out to all the ladies in the hooooouuuuuuuse!!! (Sorry I just always wanted to say that and I’ll probably never be a DJ.) Celebrate women in business and excite your mind, body, and soul at Club V: For Women, By Women, featuring a complimentary pilates fusion workout, EMILY VS BEAR art and fashion show, snacks from PMS Bites, makeovers, cocktails, and more. 3.11. 6:30p. * The Boston Calendar (hey that’s us!) and General Assembly Boston are teaming up to put top local companies on the Startup Hot Seat in front of a panel of VCs, reporters, and industry experts. First up: Jake Cacciapaglia from RunKeeper talks about the fitness tracking app with Tom O’Keefe from @BostonTweet, Sara Castellanos from Boston Business Journal, and Nicole Stata from Boston Seed. Find out which startups can stand the HEAT, and if they can’t it’s totally OK, they can cool down with light refreshments and alcoholic beverages, which will also be served. 3.11. 6p. FREE

* Boston Public Works — a group of playwrights unaffiliated with any city agency, these are not the people who took your space saver — presents their new production of From the Deep, about missing people from opposite sides of the world who connect in a new dimension with no regard for space and time. Andrew, a Boston University architecture grad student gone missing (he was probably just stuck on the Green Line lol) arrives in the surreal room of the missing with Ilan, who believes his freedom is nearly in sight after five years as an Israeli prisoner of war. The play runs through March 28. 3.12. 8p. $30
