Artsy swing sets, daytime dance parties, and more events this weekend

You may or may not agree with the Medford Masshole Kim Costa’s message to college students that went viral earlier this week. But just from the perspective of a guy who looks for cool stuff to do in the city, there’s even more cool stuff to do since the kids came back. Dodging a few backpacks on the T is a small price to pay for this week’s events.

What did the humidity say to the heat? “It’s not you, it’s me!” (Also works with “What did the DiGiorno say to delivery?” or “What did HBO say to TV?”) Try not to laugh so hard you forget to put on deodorant, because it’s pretty sticky out there and a lot of this weekend’s events are happening outside, and this is America where we possess a relatively low tolerance for other people’s body odor — one of our greatest cultural achievements along with football and jazz music. Happy Monday! I hope you spent the weekend in the sun drinking delicious beers mixed with lemonade and working on a sweet farmer’s tan. If you watched the Tonys last night and want to break out the black tie, you might as well do it for a good cause (and hang out with Big Papi) at Sunday’s David Ortiz Children’s Fund Gala to benefit MassGeneral Hospital for Children and the World Pediatric Project.
